为了降低超稳光学腔的振动敏感度, 在综合考虑振动所导致的腔镜位移及转动后, 定义了一个新的表征腔体振动敏感度的参量。采用有限元数值分析方法, 用所定义的单一参量优化了一个典型的立式超稳光学腔。优化过程考虑了腔体端面直径、支撑孔位置和深度等关键几何参量。结果表明, 优化后的腔体结构和支撑方式可以明显降低超稳腔对振动的敏感度, 腔体稳定性比优化前提高1.5倍。该优化方法操作性强, 能够有效提升超稳腔仿真和设计的效率。

实现了一种单端光纤耦合的高重复频率、窄脉冲、窄线宽及高效率的主动声光调Q全光纤脉冲光纤激光器。该光纤激光器基于光纤光栅与平面镜组合而成的线性法布里珀罗(F-P)腔结构,采用激光二极管与(2+1)×1抽运耦合器形成后向抽运,并利用单端光纤耦合声光调制器(AOM)实现了全光纤化结构的脉冲掺镱双包层光纤激光器。调Q声光开关工作在一级方向,反向输出调Q脉冲,重复频率20~100 kHz可调。在重复频率50 kHz、抽运功率5.7 W下系统获得了输出激光功率2.64 W、单脉冲能量528 μJ、脉宽56 ns、峰值功率943 W的稳定的高效率、窄线宽的窄脉冲,中心波长在1080 nm左右,线宽为0.06 nm,光光转换效率高达46%。

在光纤激光相干组束中, 受到各种因素的影响, 各个单元激光器出射激光的相位、振幅和偏振态不能保持一致, 并随着时间而变化, 均会降低相干组束后的光束质量、减弱光束中心的峰值光强和中心区域内的功率。针对光纤激光相干组束中每个单元光束的出射时的相位、振幅和偏振方向扰动对相干组束远场光强分布的影响进行了理论分析, 并给出数值计算结果。结果表明远场光强分布的图形、峰值光强度和中心区域内的功率, 受到各因素的影响, 都会不同程度的变差或减弱。

Laser-diode pumped Q-switched ytterbium-doped fiber laser is studied experimentally by controlling the switching time of acousto-optic modulator (AOM). The characteristics of Q-switched pulses with different rise time of AOM regulated by the laser beam size along the window of AOM are presented. Meanwhile, the behaviors of Q-switched pulses are achieved by regulating the switching time of AOM. The single-repetition-rate and half-repetition-rate phenomena are described and discussed. The experimental results confirm that the fiber laser with lower level inversion population can be more easily operated for half-repetition-rate generation.

Using front face-pumped compact active mirror laser (CAMIL) structure, we have demonstrated an Yb:YAG/YAG composite ceramic disk laser with pumping wavelength at 970 nm. The laser has been operated in both continuous-wave (CW) and Q-switching modes. Under CW operation, laser output power of 1.05 W with 2% transmission output coupler was achieved at the wavelength of 1031 nm. Q-switched laser output was gotten by using an acousto-optic Q-switch. The repetition rate ranged from 1 to 30 kHz and the pulse width varied from 166 to 700 ns.

A pulsed master-oscillator fiber power amplifier system with near diffraction-limited output by use of China-made large-mode-area fiber and a (2+1)×1 multimode combiner is reported. The effect of the seed power on the amplification performance is found. For the seed power, there exists a range within which the pulsed fiber amplifier can operate safely and reliably at a certain pump power. With the seed average power of 70 mW, the amplification performances of the fiber amplifier are investigated.

A simple laser-diode pumped acoustic-optic Q-switched fiber laser is reported by using China-made large-mode-area ytterbium-doped fiber. Q-switched pulses with a beam quality factor of M2 about 2 and several hundred nanoseconds pulse duration are achieved at the repetition rate of 1-50 kHz. When the repetition rate is 1 kHz, the pulse energy is 0.93 mJ with the pulse duration of 132 ns. Meanwhile, the profile of laser pulses shows some mode-locking phenomena, the mechanism of the phenomena is discussed.

A narrow-linewidth master-oscillator fiber power amplifier system was presented, in which an ultrastable, continuous-wave, single-frequency laser was adopted as the master oscillator and a China-made Yb-doped large-mode-area fiber was used as the power amplifier medium. The system generates single-frequency radiation up to 7.3 W at 1064-nm wavelength with 39% slope efficiency and 26% optical-optical power conversion efficiency. The spectral characteristics as well as the suppression of amplified spontaneous emission were discussed in detail.

The intracavity photon density is assumed to be of Gaussian spatial distributions and its longitudinal variation is also considered in the rate equations for a laser diode (LD) end-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser with GaAs saturable absorber. These space-dependent rate equations are solved numerically. The dependences of pulse width, pulse repetition rate, single-pulse energy, and peak power on incident pump power are obtained. In the experiment, the LD end-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser with GaAs saturable absorber is realized and the experimental results are consistent with the numerical solutions.
